2nd March TUSAL

A lot of blue at the bottom from my Small SAL, but expect more browns and greens in the next few months as I finish Peacock Tapestry :)

Small SAL - March

Third Small for the year. This one was more fun than the last one. It's from Joan Elliott's A Cross Stitcher's Oriental Odyssey. I remember getting this from eBay about 2 years ago and being very excited to stitch many of the patterns included. I started with Bonsai "Eternity" and it was a good choice. It was pretty fast to stitch (this is what I spent the last 2 weeks working on) and I was able to finish it a week before the deadline.

No ideas on how I'm going to finish this yet, but I'm already planning on stitching the other two patterns from that chapter. Here's a picture of one of them:

On to other news, I will probably not be participating in the next Small SAL. I've found that although it is fun to be able to stitch all these small projects that I've been meaning to get to, I never finish them (as in turn them into something), it doesn't give me that huge satisfaction I feel when I finish a section on Peacock Tapestry and working on a small frame hurts too much.

Also, there will be a lot change happening for me at work so I won't have as much time to stitch during the week anymore and I'd rather spend what time I will have on the weekend on Peacock Tapestry.

The Peacock is Back

It's been a while since my last post. The past few weeks I've been working on my Small (I'll post that tomorrow) and my book list. But now I'm back and trying to get back into my Peacock stitching groove.

I had a hard time concentrating on stitching this weekend (got some very surprising news at work) but it should be okay once everything gets settled.

The picture is really bad, I was in a hurry to take it. Also, I made a HUGE stitching error somewhere in there. I stitched an area of the tree branch with the wrong thread, but the colors are so similar that I didn't bother unpicking it. In a few year, I won't even remember where it is and no one will notice. So no harm done.

2 More Sections Finished!!!!!!

I'm so happy! I managed to finish not 1, but 2 sections over the weekend.

I feel so proud, but very tired. I'm thinking I made excellent progress and that I should now take a break and work on a different WIP. A 2 week break should be enough to work on something else and then I can get back to it and tackle the last 3 sections of leaves.

Here's what it looks like now:

March TUSAL

The pink explosion! For all my complaints about the pink, it does sort of look nice against the green.
