Small SAL - March

Third Small for the year. This one was more fun than the last one. It's from Joan Elliott's A Cross Stitcher's Oriental Odyssey. I remember getting this from eBay about 2 years ago and being very excited to stitch many of the patterns included. I started with Bonsai "Eternity" and it was a good choice. It was pretty fast to stitch (this is what I spent the last 2 weeks working on) and I was able to finish it a week before the deadline.

No ideas on how I'm going to finish this yet, but I'm already planning on stitching the other two patterns from that chapter. Here's a picture of one of them:

On to other news, I will probably not be participating in the next Small SAL. I've found that although it is fun to be able to stitch all these small projects that I've been meaning to get to, I never finish them (as in turn them into something), it doesn't give me that huge satisfaction I feel when I finish a section on Peacock Tapestry and working on a small frame hurts too much.

Also, there will be a lot change happening for me at work so I won't have as much time to stitch during the week anymore and I'd rather spend what time I will have on the weekend on Peacock Tapestry.

  2. Congrats on a lovely finish! I hear you on not doing anything with all the smalls once they're stitched. That's why I've been making biscornus for the SAL. At least those I finish immediately lol
