This weekend, the weather was freezing cold for March so I decided to just avoid all that and stay indoors. We also had some lovely lighting giving me the opportunity to take some pretty final pictures of Pearl Butterfly.
I'm kind of sad to see this project go. It was such a joy to stitch on it and made my first goldwork experience a pleasure. There will be more goldwork in the future. At least two for sure for now and then we'll see what pops up later :)

I am also sorry to see this project finished! I have really enjoyed watching your progress. It really is a gorgeous butterfly and I am sure it sparkles wonderfully in the right lighting.

ReplyDeleteThis came out sooooo beautiful. It's been a pleasure watching you stitch this through your blog photos and texts. I found another one you might like on the EGA website:

What wonderful stitching, a really gorgeous butterfly. Hope you will do some more goldwork for us to see.
ReplyDeleteit's stunning! I love the little dots on the wings - the gold formed into a sort of petal to hold the bead.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely piece - and I see quite a few different gold "threads" being used - including the flat ribbons. (Not being a gold worker I don't know what these are called). The technique was perfect! I would like to see more goldwork in the future. Congrats!
